On the Greek Island Crete there is
unlimited space for horseback riding. Close
to the village Avdou lies the Equestrian Hotel Veláni****.
Here you can ride beautiful trails in the quietness of the nature and the Dikti Mountains.
Every day we set out on a new
track, with our four legged friend.
We offer the Panorama Rides
and during the summer months we offer the Sunny Rides. Both horseback
riding programs are for the experienced and novice riders.
Sunny Rides
Sun, sea and moonlight riding
We combine a relaxing sun holiday with horse riding action.
During the week we ride out for beautiful 2 hour trips through the Langada Area.
We make these trips during the cool morning or evening hours.
In the area around Avdou there is still unlimited space
for horse riding, in the quietness of the nature and the mountains. Each time we set out on a new
track, with our four leg friend and with an experienced guide.
This program is ideal for
families, for riders who travel with non-riders or whose partner joins 1
of the other sport activities in the hotel like golf, bird watching,
hiking or mountain biking.
We daily ride a 2 hour
active trip through the valley of Langada, we cross the traditional
Greek village of Avdou with its Byzantine church. We climb up the
mountain giving an excellent view over the stables and the Langada
valley. We ride through Kerm Oak forest to visit the mysterious Church
of the Saint Fotini which is hidden deep into a Cave. And we make a
quick canter over the plateau of Mochos.
This active holiday,
combines all the good of Cretan live, relax on the beach or swim in the
pool, visit an ancient site, meet the friendly locals and enjoy the
Greek food.
The program lasts 8 days
and has 6 horse riding trails with a total of 12 hours.
The horseback riding vacations are complete with:

The Sunny Rides can only be booked in the months July and august.

A booking for only 1 night has an extra charge of 10%.
