* Is it
possible to go on horse riding holiday in the winter?
Yes, Odysseia is open the whole
year and the temperatures vary in the winter from an average of 10 - 20
degrees Celsius.
* My husband
don't ride horse are there any other activities in Avdou?
Beside the beaches and the
famous ancient sites of Crete. There is the possibility in Avdou for Bird
watching,
Paragliding, Mountain biking, walking (E4 route), caving and mountain
climbing.
A 18 hole golf course at 7 km.
* How far are the stables from the
hotel?
The hotel and the stables
are situated next to each other, on our 3,8 hectare of land. They
are separated by the restaurant, pool and Kerm oak forest.
From the rooms to the stables it is a 3 min. walk

The
stables, Manolis, the horses, were all fantastic! We had such a good
time on the rides - through lovely countryside, stopping off a
tavernas for "refreshments" ie raki, meeting some very nice people.
Ten out of ten. The rooms at the stables themselves are
heavenly. The hotel where we stayed was very
nice as well. Quiet (!) and run by a very friendly couple. The town
square in the old centre of the village where we stayed was a long
way away, and delightful. We also found a fabulous beach within 1/2
hour drive where my daughter and I were the only people on it most
days, followed by a lunch of fresh fish that we sometimes saw hauled
out of the sea before it was cooked for us.
Can't wait to go back.

Had a fantastic time. Manolis is a star. The trip is really worth
recommending. Horses solid, organisation good, really terrific people. If
you want a down to earth no bullshit trail this one would be hard to beat.
Really brilliant and deserves to be a huge success!!!
